Who didn’t smile when the female weightlifter from the Philippines won the first gold medal ever for her country? I can’t help rooting for ALL those successes, no matter the country. I think that is what makes the Olympics powerful and wonderful. They bring us together!

I am German (31 years) and I must say that I do not really care about the major sports events this year like the EURO and the Olympics. It is not the same as five or more years ago. It is just about identity politics and that sucks as hell
