You are comparing Whisky/GPTK 2.0 vs Crossover GPTK 1.1 - that's the reason why apparently Whisky has better frame times/FPS. In the meantime, Crossover also upgraded to GPTK/D3DMetal 2.0b. Btw main difference betweem Whisky and Crossover is the release of Wine they are working with. WIne 7 for Whisky, Wine 9.x for Crossover. Also the people behind Wine are the people behind Crossover. The other difference is custom adjustments for games, which means better support. Also if everyone would use Whisky, there would be no funding for Crossover, and hence Whisky would "die" as well, because Wine, while it is open source, is mostly developed by the folks at Crossover. Fun fact, the Proton compatibility layer used by Valve's Steam Deck is also developed together with Codeweavers, the same folks who developed Crossover. In a sense, Crossover for Mac is like Proton for Linux on the Steam Deck.

@0:25 dont pay $400+ for the original mini- pay the extra $199 for the new one: 2x RAM, Thunderbolt 4 (3x bandwidth) & 4th gen CPU that will run circles around M1 w a tiny form factor & brand spankin new to boot! (so it'll be supported by Apple a *minimum* of 4 years longer)

that said, i got a mint 16GB M1 MBP 1TB for $650 a few months ago dual booting into Asahi & plenty happy! totally have my eye on this mini to replace our 2017 iMac in 2-3 years. our 2010 mini is still rockin strong as a Linux server - Apple hardware ages well! 🍷

If I remember apple use wine as it's base same as crossover as it's supports the wine project, but the long run apple things(Whisky) is to get dev to port games over to arm then being like crossover as it's alot work getting games to run well under a layer like that.

Whisky sucks ass compared to crossover, you'll get 45-50 fps with crossover on elden ring. Your main problem is tge 8GB memory if you had an M1 with 16GB you'd have greatly better results.

Only 200 dollars more, you can get the m4 Mac mini for just 599. I do not think the m1 Mac mini is worth 400 dollars. That is a too steep of a price ask.

Yeah, you'll need at least a M3 Pro to get decent framerate from Cyberpunk.
