Asylum seekers are rallying against New York City as it seeks to enforce its 30 day limit on shelter stays. The problem is that asylum applications can take months, and work permission takes even longer, leaving many people who traveled to America to start new lives sadly stuck in limbo as their safety net disappears.

Pretty easy to understand . Don't invade another country illegally and expect that country to jump to your demands.

They absolutely have NO RIGHTS to demand anything

There’s millions of Americans like me who did everything right who don’t get to live the American dream and they think they just illegally entered MY country and get that overnight? Go home.

Deport, deport, deport. Save YOUR country. Let them SAVE their own. This CANNOT go on.

They didn't spend thousands of $$, the US taxpayers did. Americans should get the work first, and the housing, and the benefits.

JUST ASKING! WHY DIDN'T THESE MIGRANTS DO THIS IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY???? PROTEST AND DEMAND WANT THEY WANT? BUT IN THIS COUNTRY, WE PUT UPWITH IT. BUT OUR OWN PEOPLE WHO NEED THESE THINGS GET NOTHING.

$12, 000 a month per immigrant . Seems the tax payers should be protesting not illegal immigrants.

“We the People” did not invite all of these millions of people in.

I just got nauseous when I realized my tax dollars are the money loaded on to those prepaid visa cards... Yet I don't qualify for foodstamps. Disgusting.

If you don’t like the free handouts and what you’re receiving, then leave.
It’s not the American taxpayers responsibility to support you!

This is going to break our country. It is unsustainable.

They came to the most expensive city in the US (third most expensive in the WORLD), and they are upset that they can't afford to live there? People who make $100k per year can't afford to live there! Sorry, my family came with next to nothing to the US from Cuba (legally)-and they received nothing from the government. Give me a break.

Immigration is not a right. It is a privilege. Yes to LEGAL immigration, No to ILLEGAL immigration.

They have no right to be upset. They came here ILLEGALLY!! Go home if you don’t like it. You shouldn’t have broken the law coming here in the first place.

Im a disabled Vet on a fixed income. 15 %VA with my social security disability.
Why would non Americans receive more $ in benefits than I do?
I cannot afford all I need to live a comfortable life.
I cant feel sorry for them!

American homeless were kicked out of the shelters to make space for the "migrants" we need to take care of our own first!!!!

"They just want a job and shelter." Well boo hoo! So do many Americans!

As someone who's family immigrated the right way: stayed home, filed paperworked, secured jobs PRIOR to arrival we came to ADD to America. Where in the world do you show up and expect to be given a job, housing and funding while you adjust? I'm originally from a socialist country and this is ridiculous!
