tbh, those guys look still great while not posing but social media is burning that picture in our brain that everyone looks always perfect at every minute of the day living the perfect life you will never have. It's even hard to notice that much of the self loathing and hate comes just from social media. It's so damn toxic

I took two selfies, one on a regular day and one right as I got home from the gym. I used my hip width as a point of reference and made a comparison: my shoulders and back were 13% wider on the picture taken right after the gym. I overlapped the pictures and I looked notably bigger with the pump. Of course, give it 2 hours and I'm back to being small.

Another problem with the people who upload photoshoped pictures of themselves is that they make other people think that everything is being photoshoped. Some days ago my friend saw a picture of mine where I was showing my muscles and he thought it was fake because the rest of the people fake their pictures. I do not have a lot of muscles, but it made me feel bad that I did not get respected for my hard work because to be honest I go to the gym to be more respected than I am now and I am not doing it that much about myself. At least I do not deal with these problems a lot because I show my muscles more outside and not online!

Another factor I would say is the amount of effort you put into posing. When you see alot of these people doing Social Media Vs Reality tiktoks. The large majority of them just dont flex as hard when they show the reality taking that illusion of a bigger physique

I see that this can lead to body Dismorphia but I can’t help to think that these guys still look 💯 🔥 even when not flexing or having a pump

True, but you can still look good if you get that tan and stay around the single digit. Especially if you do Calisthenics and not just go to the gym (I've never seen a Calisthenics trainer or especially athlete having to worry about getting a good pump in before taking a selfie) Calisthenics works your entire body, whereas most gym exercises focuses mostly on individual muscle groups (which is also why gymgoers like to say "Never skip leg day") because most of them thinks that they don't have to work the entire bod per training session. Stuff such as doing pull-ups is therefore detrimental because it's both a bicep, back, oblique, but also leg exercise if you incorporate L-sit with half-crunches. Same for dips, back, bicep, brachiradialis, and chest exercise if done with proper form. Using machines therein limits which groups you can train at the time, and while, yes, you can absolutely become a beast by hitting the gym 3-5 times a week over a solid period of time, you're still not going to have that athletic appearance that the others have and that most women are attracted to the most (because, again, they train the entire thing every single time, whereas you're more likely to only train half the amount — which is also why bodybuilders tend to take steroids)

At the gym I look like a unnatural lifter at home I still look close to being on that edge but have shitty definition in the bad lighting. The pump is a huge factor especially when you are one of those people store lots of water in the muscle during workouts as I barely sweat.
