Ableton Sampler Sound Issue: Solved!

It took me years to figure out why Ableton's sampler didn’t hit the same as dropping WAV files on the grid. That weird high-frequency ringing? Turns out it’s from real-time sample rate conversion when your session is at 48 kHz and your samples are 44.1.
Fixed it by batch-converting all my drum samples to 48 kHz in iZotope RX and normalized them to -12 dB peak. Game-changer. Now, no more ringing, perfect gain staging, and swapping kicks mid-mix is super clean. Why didn’t anyone tell me this sooner?! 😂

Are there any possible downsides to normalizing all of your samples at once?
