I knew Dizzy would return. She's been a staple of the series since her first appearance. She got a glow up though, Unika is from the upcoming anime so I can't wait to see how she plays. Lucy is the first guest character in GG history so yeah, Season 4 is going to be interesting.

Of all the characters from Edgerunners, Lucy seems the for a fighting game? Like, David or even Rebecca would´ve been a better choice if you had to add someone from that series, imo atleast.

Couple of things I hope for with Venom is if he shows up in a Bakery Chef uniform before changing to his battle attire, and he brings Robo-Ky with him as an assist.

I feel so weird about The choice of Lucy as a guest character. On one hand Edge Runners was a masterpiece (in a vacuum) and a Trigger character is perfect for the GG style. However beyond the visuals, Edgerunners as a story is the complete antithesis of Guilty Gear. While Guilty Gear is Hopepunk that through its hard metal rock exterior is a story about hope and living life the best way you can despite the hardships, Edgerunners (and the Cyberpunk 2020/2077 IP as a whole) has a downright terrible message (contrary to my prior praise) that essentially tells the viewer to just give up on life because the world sucks and any sort of self-improvement or trying to make the world better will result in you being miserable or dead.

Guilty Gear wants you to hold onto hope, while Edgerunners tells you to give up on everything and just let the world burn.

In a way its almost fitting in an ironic sense, but I don't know how to feel about it.

I might be overthinking a guest character being in a cool as fighting game, but I can't help but feel conflicted about such a surprisingly hopeful narrative in Guilty Gear now introducing people to Edgerunners, a story with a message that while again, a masterpiece of a tragedy in a vacuum, but in the context of what it tells the viewer, it kind of crosses the line from cautionary tale to promoting the very thing it is criticizing (It criticizes capitalist dystopia but ironically in telling the viewers to give up on life it is accidentally supporting the mega corps it resents by making a hopeless message which causes people to not bother fighting said mega corps or political corruption).

I have a odd love-hate relationship with Edgerunners.

Lucy being in the fame is cool, but while at the surface level she seems like a perfect choice, but when you dig deeper it becomes such an odd choice as the antithesis of GG's narrative thesis. Perhaps they were aiming for irony, or they just wanting this cool anime waifu as a guest character in the game... Either way I do hope she is fun to play.
