How To Play On The Floor On Guitar (With TAB!!!)

Hey guys, this is a tutorial on how to play "On The Floor" by Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull on guitar. I wanted to teach more than the chords for this song, so I found 2 lead parts to play as well. It's not a very difficult song to play but getting the phrasing right can make a big difference in sound. Here's the tabs and strumming pattern.

TABS:

1. Chorus Lead Part:

G - 15 13 11 10 8 8 11 10 8 6 8
D - 8 6 8-6-8

(- indicates sliding)

2. Beat Lead Part:

A - 4 4 4 4 4-6 8 8 8 8 8
E - 6 6 6 6 6-4 2 2 2 2 4-6

(once you play the last 8 on the A, repeat from the start)

3. Main Rhythm

B flat minor - 6,8,8,6,6,6
F# - 2,4,4,3,2,2
C# - x,4,6,6,6,6

any of these 3 chords will work as the 4th chord:

Gsus4 6 - x,8,10,10,9,8
Fm Lower Octave - 1,3,3,1,1,1
Fm Higher Octave - 13,15,15,13,13,13

(x means don't play that string, order descends from low E to high E).

STRUMMING PATTERN:

D D D D XX D D D D XX D D D D XX D D D D

(X indicates palm mute, both palm mutes indicate chord change as well, each chord is played in a set of 4 downstrokes).
