My dermatologist recommended that I don’t wash my face in the shower because the shower temp people prefer is typically too hot for your face, which can irritate dry or sensitive skin. Also, shampoo residue gets on your face in the shower, which leads to acne, so it’s good to wash after. My acne and skin pH improved a lot after I started washing my face outside the shower :)

I COMPLETELY agree about people getting out of the shower then washing your face. Like WHAT!?!? I understand washing your face in the sink if you weren’t going to shower that day, but if you are already in the shower then why not do it in there😂

I’m so jealous of your skin and its resiliency!! If I washed my skin in the shower it would absolutely freak out - it’s so sensitive. I can’t use really emollient skincare cuz it’ll exacerbate my sensitive skin/ rosaeca. Has to be gel/ lightweight products. No retinol or actives like vitamin c over here. Can anyone relate?!

I personally like to wash my face in extremely cold water - i have acne prone skin so the cold water helps with inflammation. So that’s why i don’t wash my face in the shower but if i didn’t have acne prone skin id be washing my face in the shower with my dove bar soap LMAO

i wash my face outside the shower out of pure superstition cause every time i try to reduce a step and wash my face in the shower my skin breaks out lol but i truly believe skin care is unique for everyone so what works for some people might not work for others!

definitely agree w not washing ur face in the morning! its so unnecessary and strips your face of its natural oils.. if anything, its damaging ur barrier! unless a dermo has told u to wash ur face 2x a day, dont bother❤️

I was told by my dermatologist not supposed to wash your face in the shower, if and only if, you use like really hot water in the shower. The extra hot heat + the water pressure can really damage your skin barrier
