I switched from the fold 4 to the fold 6 mainly for the brightness of the screen and larger profile. I also noticed the fold 6 is noticeably lighter. I overall pretty minimal change but I'm happy with the upgrade.

Thanks, Kevin, for this very unique and eye-opening review! Awesome, as always! I daily-drive the Z Fold4 and refuse to update until the hardware/specs of the Samsung book-style foldables are at least on par with their Chinese counterparts.

Fold 4 user here, i have had mine for close to 2 years now and its been an amazing device with no issue's.
Ofcourse im a light user who wont open and close it more then 20 times a day (closer to 5/10 a day)but i have had no issue with the screen, the hinge or anything else realy.
I did remove my screen protector after a year but its been alot better without it ngl.

Former fold 4 user, i would have still stuck with the 4 if it wasn't for the bristles issue. I upgraded because they got rid of the bristles, its brighter, 7 years is more than plenty, and the ultra wide camera is better.

I find the 4 to 6 jump is substantial, and getting $1k for it on a trade seemed worth it for me. Either way the cameras are a disappointment compared to my s23 ultra that I still keep around for pictures.

The only problem i had with z fold 4 was the hinge not letting me open my phone all the way. I had to get it fixed. Since the z folds 5 and 6 have thinner hinges, did that fix the problem? That's the only reason i would upgrade

In summary they are the same . I just returned my fold 6 and got the open . So much better . People love to get ripped off by Samsung and apple and they feel happy about it lol .

I'm on the fold 5, probably switching to the s25 ultra when it's released this coming winter. Im paying $10 monthly for an extended warranty on the fold 5 bc im afraid at some point something will go wrong. Never had that feeling with the Ultra lineup. Or maybe i should wait for the fold 7, I do enjoy the larger screen.

This was the video ive been looking for. The main reason for upgrading is storage space. My fold4 im using has 512Gig of storage but im down to 24 now. Hopefully this fold6 1Tb verson will last me longer. Shame they got rid of SD card expansions (and IR blasters) All for having water resistant (yea right$$$)

Bro I am using fold 4 instead of 6 i thought it is a good thing by not going with the new model but after using fold 4 for 6 months my inner screen got black but luckily I got a free replacement but with sometimes they don't do it so I will suggest you to go with the newest model ( I had use my fold 4 with a lot care and with samsung's case and it's not have any physical damage sometimes with old model phone after updating you face this problem)

Z fold 4 user here. My fold screen developed a lump a few months in. And then in an update the phone crashed and would not turn back on. They found a bunch of issues and repaired under warrenty. Now just outside of warrenty the phone started turning off when not plugged into the wall. Repair bill is quoted at $1200 and they need to do a near total rebuild of the phone. This experience doesn't line up well with the $2300 I paid for it two and a half years ago.

Z Fold 4 is IPX8, X stands for no dust protection but level 8 water resistance, Z fold 6 has IP48, the 4 now stands for some dust protection and keeping the same 8 for water resistance, I'm a Z fold 4 user and unfortunately after 2 and a half years I'm paying the no dust protection disadvantage, hinge won't open to a flat 180° anymore, possibly some hinge damage, the dust protection it is easily the reason I will jump into z fold 6 or wait for the 7.

I had no intention of upgrading to the 6, from my 4. Ive owned the 3, 4, and now 6. But man the BF deal was just too good to pass on. Just received my 6 512gb version for 560 to my door with tradein of my 4. Was planning on keeping the 4, but that deal, a new battery, 7yrs updates, more efficient chipset, and brighter screen got me. Im still not pleased with the SPen situation (not dockable in phone body, and no cover screen writing) but now that i bought the 6, i anticipate the 7 will have every feature ive always wanted...lol...facetious. Cheers.
