I generally don't use a keychain light either.  However that being said, I have carried one on my keychain for a few years just as a backup.  This one is very nice and I have been liking it so far.  I do have the same complaint with the clip though.  It definitely needs to be metal, redesigned or something, because it does come off.  And there needs to be a cover over the charging port.

Excellent review Tim. I have the Nitecore TIP (not SE), and that thing is really nice. Not one to carry a bunch of crap in my pockets, or on my keychain, but this light is the exception due to how well it works. I threw the clip away (nice thought, but not well executed).
