I can't recommend it.... - Zotac Zone Review

The Zotac Zone is yet another gaming handheld to hit the market, and coming in later down the line compared to the competition means it needs to perform exceptionally well, and have defining features, to truly hit the mark in such a congested segment. Unfortunately, my time with the Zotac Zone has been relatively average, with the handheld not having any particularly major issues, but it's not really brought anything new, or remarkable, to the table either.

I loved the layout being a PlayStation gamer. I was interested in this device, but you mentioned all the reasons not to. I went ahead and pre-ordered the MSI Claw 8 AI.

Personally, I love the hardware features and would use the fingerprint scanner and dials all the time. Having quick and physical access to screen brightness and volume is a must for me. The only thing holding me back is the Zotac software and battery. I really hope they at least release a SteamOS option, that would sell me on it.

I got a NEW Z1 ally (non extreme) for 349 USD and it’s a steal imo. Sure, it’s not as powerful as the extreme, but I’ve manage to make it work at 10W for games like Watch Dogs Legion to get consistent 720p 30 plus FPS. Works for me.

I'm going to assume that the webcam is for Windows Hello. Combine that with Steam Big Picture mode at login, and you've got a Windows device booting into a gaming centric view, with absolute ease.
Your feature breakdown (At least by the 2 minutes 45 second mark) ignores the obvious difference for the device as well, and that's the OLED panel, it's literally the defining feature to any of the other conventional manufacturer handhelds (Obviously bar the Steam Deck OLED, albeit the Zotac has a higher resolution and refresh rate)

The Zotac (From a purely hardware perspective) is perfect bar the battery, albeit it's absolutely very late considering the new AMD APU's literally releasing in hand helds now.

The fingerprint is a waste. The CD webcam can be useful for zoom working. Wish my deck had it. Windows is nice to.
But no i will wait for a better product

It is literally the same as rog ally z1e. Except you can buy a rog ally used or even a rog ally x for cheaper than this
