Thank you so much for this. So many fish hobbyist act like it's a crime if you don't have a thousand gallon tank in every corner of your house. So thank you for giving us normal people cool and achievable goals for our humble little aquatic homes. I currently have a 15 gallon, a 29 gallon used as a terrarium and I am seeking to build a 10 gallon centerpiece tank. The simple fact that you mentioned it showed me my intentions are pure.

Really loving this series. Who knew there was so much to talk about 10 gallon tanks. Hope it encourages many more people to get into the hobby!

You know you've watched too many fish-tubers when you instantly recognize their tanks from still shots.

I’m brand new to the hobby. Only had my 10 gal for about 2 months. I love it so much! I ended up doing dwarf puffers with Otocinclus Catfish and some ghost shrimp in a heavily planted tank. So much personality and movement 😊

Your videos really helped me a lot to get my tank up and running!

i cant believe it, 6 schooling fish, 5 panda cories and a honey gourami in a 10 gallon? i asked so many times on different fish forums if those fish would be fine in my 15 gallon and they ALWAYS said i needed atleast 20 gallons for those fish together. thank you so much cory, im so glad you uploaded this.

My 10 gal started out with some white cloud mountain minnows, panda corys, and the star was the betta fish. I added the betta last. It's a live-planted tank so I made sure it was well and stable with healthy plants. Then I added the betta, I floated him in his cup with low light for a while. Not just to get the temps the same but I wanted him to get a look/see/feel for his neighbors. He was a young betta. I added him in and at first, he was very curious and checked everyone out, but before the end of the day, he just explores the tank now. It's been about 2 years and he's fine and everyone coexists fine. Its been updated to a 20 gal tall now, he's still been moved over, now shares it with a bristle nose pleco, and a 3 Endler guppies with those mountain minnows and panda corys.

Wait... Did we honestly fail to mention White Clouds in this? By far the most versatile and bulletproof fish I think ANY hobbyist will EVER own, hands down.
Just felt the need to mention them, as they tend to be overlooked by so many in the hobby.
Keep doing what you're doing, and God Bless You Always!

one thing i absolutely love for small tanks, especially for a darker jungle-look, with knurly woods, ferns, and anubias, is a java moss back wall.
it's a slow burn. but once it has grown into a dense mat, it looks wonderfully lush and dark, and soaks up nitrates.
if you do HMFs: yes, perfect combo!

I have stocked my 10 gallon aquarium with fluval soil, assorted anubias, tall grass, and hallowed rocks. I have 12 neon tetras, 1 male betta, 2 dwarf plecos, 2 apple snails, 3 red shrimp, 1 yellow shrimp, and an army of bladder snails that snuck in and multiplied. I am actually super happy with how well my betta and tetras match.

Thanks for the video this was a huge help in determining a good setup for my daughters’ new 10 gallon tank. We landed on:

1 Honey Gourami
5 Harlequin Rasbora
5 Panda Cory

The girls love it!

My friends got really annoyed because I was just telling them to do their research before getting animals, I'm really upset...but this is making me feel better.😢😠🙁😐

A black crow tail betta and 5 neon tetras! With nice dark substrate and tons of green plants and wood. Absolutely a beautiful tank

As stated in this video, Celestial Pearls are not shy within well planted aquariams. Ideal set up would have dense plants around back + mid ground and topped off some surface plants. Through trial & error i've discovered that adding a % of red LED's into the mix of your lighting set-up makes the Celestial body colouring look really spectacular.

I followed your advice and did my first guppy tank. And the excitement I have from seeing babies who are now free swimming is unlike any other so far.

I went straight from no fish to a 10 gallon with a "redwood" themed aquascape. I'm still getting it cycled before I add fish. I hope my plants don't die 😩

6:42 Good point.I always wanted to try those planted tank stuff after seeing many nano tank vids on Youtube. And I did...with 10 neon tetras and Corys. But I wasn't happy. The fishes are too small and insignificant(that's just how I feel.)I do not get attached to them.I rarely do maintainance the tank as I lose interest in it.
Then one day I decided sold the tank and now I'm starting again with a 20 gallon tank and two cute ranchu goldfish. And I absolutely love them.I really love maintaining their tank.I love watching them swim all day.All I'm saying is that planted tanks looks cool and its only natural that you want to try it.But they are not suitable for those who only loves keeping fish.Just keep the fish you want and love.Don't do Nano tank just because other people are doing it.
