How I got a Full Tuition Scholarship to Vanderbilt | stats, ECs, essay topics (Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholarship)

Thank you guys for all the comments on my college decision reaction video. They were incredibly sweet and made me feel very uwu.

I realized that I never explained the Cornelius Vanderbilt scholarship, so here we go. It's a merit-based scholarship for full tuition + research stipend, and to apply there's a required 500 word scholarship essay where they ask what made you want to major in your selected major.

I have no way to know what actually got me in, and whatever got me in is not the only way to go. Go with your gut and chase the things you enjoy.

One more thing, none of this was done strictly on my own. I've been incredibly privileged and lucky to have parents, teachers, and friends who've supported me (if y'all r watching, ehhe thank u ilysm).

As rising senior looking at this, I’m now wishing that I went out and looked at more extra curriculars just to venture out and see what I liked (seeing as my test scores are poor/low). Congratulations!! Vandy grad here :) Nashville and Vanderbilt are the absolute best. And we have a lower acceptance rate than like half the ivies lol. You will LOVE!!! <3

Brings back so many memories, both joyous and heartbreaking. I remember the tears of joy after getting into UCLA and BC and the tears of sadness after getting waitlisted by my dream school UNC. You’ll do amazing wherever you go, those are incredible stats! And if you go with a science major, try not to overload yourself any one semester (I was a biological sciences major and made that mistake!)
