The office of the President does not belong to one person, Uhuru can't give away the office to anyone whether Ruto, Mudavadi or Raila. On the other hand Uhuru can't force Kikuyus to vote for Ruto. Even with Uhurus support there was doubt that Central was willing to vote for Ruto in 2022.
But Ruto is not stupid his biggest problem is that he is sometimes too emotional and will always want to respond even to the smallest comments about him by a random MCA from Timbuktu he should learn to hold his tongue.

The funny thing is that after he won the 2013 elections he became arrogant, he was still going around dissing Raila even after he knew who sent him to the Hague. That is how he lost the western and nyanza votes for 2022. Ruto became a sore winner.

People do not fear Ruto because of corruption but it is because of his bitterness he doesn't look like someone who will ever forgive, he carries too many grudges.

Anyone with sound and genuine principals would never ever back Ruto for the presidency. His character and scandals on his back leave a lot to be desired. Such character cannot be trusted to be the custodian of the kenyan title deed and treasury. There will be nothing left of Kenya to talk off. Murathe is right to resist this character.
