Linear Equations Introduction

Linear equations are equations between two variables that gives a straight line when plotted on a graph. For example y = 2x + 1 is a linear equation - and as we will see it goes up by a regular amount and when we graph it it will be expressed as a straight line.
We will also look at how to easily recognise a linear equation and a non linear equation, through the use of three simple observations that can be made about the equation.

Just wanted to thank you for this video and can't wait to watch more of your channel. I really enjoy maths but I am just going back to college to do my GCSEs and I'm not sure what is right to study online; my teacher says not to watch American videos for eg. as the methods may differ. Long story short: I have struggled with this for a long time, I understand linear equations but in terms of graphs it was a big no-no and your video made it super simple. Big thumbs up.
