This whole episode is very revealing for her. The mask of magic and power and being Queen is gone. All we see is an exposed, hurt, and momentarily hopeful, little girl. And the way she interacts with David throughout this whole episode is so vulnerable, like a desperate child... he even seems taken aback. Just more proof of Lana’s brilliant work ethic and skill. 👏🏻🤘🏽

this scene is so nuanced and so dense in ways that i can’t even begin to unpack. 1. her love came back— the love that died at the hands of her own mother. 2. she watched this same resurrected love attack her only son, her only love in her life NOW. 3. david, the man who married the woman who’s partly responsible for her love’s passing, who’s daughter is out to defeat regina, is pushing her away from her love once more. 4. she can’t even use magic to defend daniel or herself because she promised henry not to. the way we see her in her most vulnerable state, crying and begging david instead of being ruthless and defensive. 5. the way daniel, the one man she thought would always listen to her, pushes her up against the walll and almosr kills her like she’s anyone else but she says she loves him (i mean can she get any more vulnerable?) 6. the innocence and light we see in her eyes when she’s officially reunited with daniel. 7. having to watch him in pain because she couldn’t let him go. 8. going against decades of vindictive plotting and killing and sin— making all of that in pain jusr because she had to be the one to finish off her love one last time. THIS SCENE YOU GUYS!!
