As a person who graduated Computer Science Engineering, I can 100% agree to this. Not even 5% of what we learn in college is useful in real life/work. The curriculum is so fucked up that it actually wastes 4 years of students life just by learning so many theories for nothing. And for me, most of my professors had no idea about IT industry and how it works. But their ego was something else than my company's CEO😂😂😂

We students hope that this will change one day. You r right varun, The vivas, Assignments are all bullshit. We people do night before practical exams which has no importance in real life.

Well, that matters if a student do his research properly. I am a law graduate. And every sem we get 6 assignments, 90% were done by just copying and pasting. But in 10% assignments in which I took interest and did a lot of research and completed then with my own inputs, I learnt a lot, and that still helps me. I am far ahead in those few topics than many senior lawyers of SC also.
So assignment is a great thing if taken seriously by the teacher as well as the student. We can actually learn a lot from them.
And vivas or presentations actually help in gaining confidence for public speaking.
It is not that assignments or vivas are bad. The reality is that for 95% students, they are meaningless.

Well it largely depends on what course you choose. Assignments given to students of Medicine, Law, architecture, design, media, communication and many other streams actually do help people be better professionals. Stop generalising everything.

In our college all our assignments are based on self learning, field work and experience we get after doin the work. So i guess its kinda good

My teacher said:
This is India, and if you don't flow with education system you'll be knocked out of way.
So smartness is just try and get good marks if not great marks.

Thats where i did a large mistake. I took them seriously and never failed in any exam and now i am afraid of failure.

But think of assignments on coding, for software developers.

We have to do them ourselves. Obviously we can still cheat.

I have failed in last 3 semesters because of not doing assignments.

I don’t like coding like other people do. I just study it for the sake of doing.

I am more business minded and want to explore business opportunities.

During my graduation 5 years ago. I submitted almost empty assignments. I crampled it on the edges to make it look used. On the coverpage I filled my student info. I got A in some, B+ in some. I repeated it in all semesters and gave the secret to my friends. they filled 3 or 4 pages max for projects that needed 20+. The rest pages where empty. They all passed with above average grades. The system was broken. I think it still it.

Bro don't send your kids to school but stop shaming education system, it's already a cliche, so many people trying to sound smart. School teaches us how to learn if you aren't stupid enough, what you wanna learn is upto you.
