2018 - 2022 Honda Accord Engine Air Filter - How to Change Remove Replace 1.5L Motor Air Filter

A video tutorial on how to remove and replace the engine air filter in a 2018 - 2022 Honda Accord. This video is for Accords equipped with the 1.5L motor.

To change the engine air filter in your Honda Accord, you should perform the following steps:
1. Locate the air cleaner/filter assembly on the front corner of the engine compartment on the Driver's side of the Accord.
2. Loosen the two clips on the cover of the housing and lift up the cover.
3. Remove the engine air cleaner/filter from the housing.
4. Clean the engine air cleaner/filter sealing surfaces and the housing.
5. Install the replacement engine air cleaner/filter.
6. Replace the cover and tighten the clips.

How often should the engine air filter be changed in a 2018 - 2022 Honda Accord?
It is recommended that you change the Accord's engine air filter every 10- 15,000 miles or once a year.

This is so easy to do, and only takes about 10 minutes to do both the cabin and the engine air filters. Last time when I had regular maintenance on my Honda Accord, the dealer was going to charge like $25 of labor for each one to install, I kindly declined and went over to the parts department and just bought them to do it myself.

Super easy to do, don't forget to change your cabin filter too, you will be amazed how dirty they get and it's super easy to do and yes their is a Youtube video for that one too. Best of all your wallet is going to feel pretty good you DIY. Ask the dealership how much in labor they charge to do this.

2020 Honda Accord Engine should be 1.5T, but I only find 1.5L on Amazon. Is it the 1.5L is good for 1.5T engine?

Is it necessary to clean around the air box before dropping in the air filter replacement? My in cabin air filter was filthy since I never changed for nearly 4 years bought brand new. It had all kinds of leaves/bugs/etc!! I can’t imagine what is in the engine air filter. What would you do in my case? Did I also somewhat damage my engine by not changing the filter? Mind you I have the higher 2.0t vtech engine (defined type R motor)

I replaced engine filter for my Honda Accord myself. Just a quick question, can we use any brand of filter for replacement that fits in, or we must use one from Honda company(if there is one)? I used Fram filter available at Walmart.
Also, I accidentally dislodged and lost the plastic clip/latch while closing the filter box after putting the new filter in. How can I find a new clip for the latch that fits this box?
