Hello, it's time for the World Now. Bringing you some of the most interesting news from around the globe, I'm Choi Jeong-yoon.
'Earth Hour' was celebrated over the weekend, where people across the world counted down together before switching off lights for one hour at exactly 8-30 PM local time.
Some of world's most iconic landmarks were plunged into darkness...from the Eiffel Tower in Paris to buildings along Shanghai's skyline.
In Greece, Athen's Acropolis staged a slow blackout with lights going off on ancient structures...while nearly 4-thousand companies and buildings switched off their lights in Hong Kong.
This global event, organized by environmental group WWF...is to push for action on climate change and other man-made threats to the planet.
The annual Earth Hour has grown steadily since the first event in 2007 in Sydney, Australia and is now observed in more than 7-thousand cities worldwide.
