A 142 of the Indian constitution deals with - the discretionary powers vested with the Supreme Court of India to entertain any matter so as to provide complete justice.

Importance of A 142:-
1) independence of judiciary
2) strengthening the role of Supreme Court in being the guardian of constitution and constitutional principles on which democratic India is based on.

Criticisms of A 142:-
1) the Supreme Court at times over arches it’s boundaries and interferes with the work of legislature and executive (the other 2 prime organs of our govt)
2) this creates a struggle of power/ dominance kind of situation
3) and thus, has in many instances goes against the doctrine of separation of powers.

Conclusion:-
There is no hard and fast rule when it comes to doctrine of separation of powers - as each of the organs of the govt ie., legislature, executive, and judiciary are not watertight compartments rather they are interdependent and functions in a complementary manner.

Thus, A 142 doesn’t go against the doctrine of separation of powers. However, proper care must be made while applying A 142 by the Supreme Court of India.

FAME II is a scheme launched by the goi in the year 2019 to promote e - vehicles in India.

Positives of FAME II
1) there has been an increase in the number of three wheeler e vehicles (over 65% of the overall e vehicles)
2) the manufacturing of e vehicles is mostly indigenous and thus, boosts the domestic economy
3) the cost is affordable

Roadblocks in adoption of e vehicles
1) there is stress on cost/ affordability over the quality of e vehicle. For eg, in recent days, there has been increasing complaints of e - vehicles catching fire
2) there are not enough charging stations
3) there is ambiguity on the issue of mileage of e vehicles and thus a hesitancy to buy 2 and 4 wheeler e vehicles.

Way forward
1) there has to be a balance in both the cost and the quality of e vehicles. Neither can be compromised
2) increase the number of charging stations
3) more awareness on the significance of e vehicles in terms of environment sustainability, etc
