In the 70’s & 80’s feeding your baby a bottle of water daily was demanded by obstetricians! Thank God medical education never ends.

I asked my kids’ pediatrician if I was supposed to give my son water and he said, “You can if you want to but it’s not necessary. Breast milk/formula have everything he needs.”

Is anyone besides me remembering hospitals giving newborns water and sending Moms like me home with baby bottles of water, back in the day?

I remember when I had my first baby when I was 21, I breastfed him and my grand mother was appalled that I didn’t give him water. My mom was a R.N. For all of my life and kept telling my grandmother (her mom) that infants didn’t need water. She simply could not grasp this.

Thank God nothing happened to my baby because the hospital sent me home with a case of bottles of water and the supermarket use to sell water for babies. WOW

Thats the first ive ever heard of that Dr. I have Hyponitremia. Im in kidney failure. 4th stsge severe. Ive had kidney problems since a toddler. Maybe thats what caused me!? Of course i'm a lot older now. But i never knew not to give babies water. Thank you very much for that info. No Dr ever told me that! I wonder if they knew that back in the 70s when i had my son's!!

What about chamomile. I remember when i was a kid in my country spain..mothers would give there babies a small amount of chamomile tea for stomach aches..?

I have 3 healthy beautiful daughters and I fed all 3 water beginning as a newborn. They still love water. They never had the colic nor constipation!

Wow. I feel sorry for my mom. My grandmother ( dead now) told me she didn't have milk and gave my mom sugar water instead. She was born after the war and I was shocked to hear it was so bad in my moms living time, there was no other options, where they lived. Hopefully it wasn't a long period. Have to ask if my mom know..

You are literally never forced to have a baby unless you are raped or unable to consent. Sex = baby. You agree to sex, you agree to the chance of having a baby. How hard is that to understand?

Nobodies forcing anyone to have a baby. No one is forcing you to have sex either. But if you have sex, and you now have a baby in your womb, it should be against the law to murder that baby.

My pediatrician told me to feed my baby water in-between feeding.🤯 Thank God she's a healthy adult now

Good thing I have no children or I’d have made this mistake lol

Family member gave my baby 2 full bottle of water and said she already 9kids if her own .. I didn’t know much about it but my instinct was screaming me nooo. I’m so lucky my baby is fine.
