I like to think of it more as an opportunity to grow a few more items. (I'm usually away from my garden the first two to three weeks of August -super planning!- and I'm happy to try to get a few more things in the ground)

But great attitude and approach for good mental health! 😊

I’m saving seeds at this time but not really sowing anything as 😂 go figure I’m making changes to the garden

I'm not sowing anything else now but have ordered some Spring cabbage plants to pop in. I sowed a few things last month and most got eaten :(

I know what you mean though, Jane! I’m just about done with this year’s garden. We have also today sown a few lines of tendergreen stem in the seed bed to transplant - if they survive slugs - in the hope of a possible Indian summer as an experiment. And I intend to scatter some home saved parsley seeds (that have taken ALL YEAR to flower and go to seed) around the base of the bean tunnels. But no more module sowing!!!

So…… what are you sowing? 😁

Maybe you can grab some interesting starts from Malvern….. ?

I still plant things for winter but I definitely ease off the gas and look forward to putting some of my plot to bed for the winter. We all need bit of down time. Not so for owners of chickens I had chickens for 7-8 years loved it but was there every day especially winter de icing the water etc. even Xmas day Boxing Day etc. they needed care So now I enjoy a few months of down time come October when all the purple sprouting broccoli etc is planted & covered even gardeners need a holiday 🤩

I wholeheartedly agree - just sowing French beans! (but the end of Summer is officially 22nd September)

I've put in all my starts this week. Only thing left are some radish direct sown and maybe arugula. But honestly, I've tried sowing later and mostly it fails as the days grow shorter and the first frost is on the horizon not too far out. Well said.
