So You Want to Be a CARDIOLOGIST #SHORTS

Показать описание
So you want to be a cardiologist. Cardiology is the specialty of medicine that deals with the heart and blood vessels. They are the go-to doctors for heart attacks as well as more chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and irregular heart rhythms. To become a cardiologist, you must complete 4 years of medical school followed by 3 years of internal medicine residency and 3 years of cardiology fellowship. After fellowship, there are also several options for additional subspecialization.
In terms of competitiveness, cardiology is one of the most difficult internal medicine fellowships to match into after residency. This means high test scores, strong letters of recommendation, and lots of research.
The average cardiologist earns $490,000 per year and works approximately 58 hours per week.
In terms of lifestyle, the training to become a cardiologist is long and the workload can often be intense. That being said, being a cardiologist can be immensely satisfying.
Has the patient’s heart stopped? You can restart it. Is an artery blocked? You can unblock it. As a cardiologist, you often have the opportunity to save lives on a regular basis.
