Thanks, all good info.
Banbury is heaven for EVs, so many chargers available. The reason the Osprey units are quiet is the huge Instavolt hub even nearer to the motorway and cheaper, i think, and coffee shop next door.

Hi Dave. We use the Tesla chargers regularly, you did well to find all the Tesla chargers free or being used as every time we go now, there are gym users parking in the EV charge bays 😤

It's the car BMS who decides the charging speed not the charger... BMS -> Battery Management System. Thanks for your video's 😎

Re the heavy connection - I expect your extension (although not excessively long) adds to the difficulty you perceive? Increased extension means increased moment (from GCSE Physics).

Maybe the difference in weight is that the conductors are Aluminium, not Copper, in the heavy ones? Maybe avoids the thieving pykie elements being attracted to them?

The thing I hate is having to drive in forwards, to charge. Driving out forwards is so much safer for all.

Great information again, it is wonderful information for new EV owners. Tesla chargers are managing circa 50p so why can't all of the others? Seems crazy and profiteering to me.

Did anyone else read Kempower and hear @teslabjorn?

Hi Dave, I charged at the Osprey Banbury yesterday. Unfortunately I had to.
You mention the price and it is truly high compared to Tesla on the same site. Owning an MG I set myself up for Tesla as soon as it became available at this site.
I had no problems with Tesla chargers on this site but the last time I got a charge was in April. Since then the charger does not recognise that my car is plugged in. I tried all 6 stands available yesterday. I have no problems elsewhere. I can't find any way to get in touch with tesla to sort this out.

How to use an Osprey charger...select Drive or Reverse as appropriate and go and find the nearest Supercharger for half the price! It seems that the Osprey cables are short too. Didn't reach the wrong side of my Model Y. (I was just testing in anticipation of a long trip abroad).

There's a Costa Coffee in between Currys and the Food Warehouse, it's set back from the road so easy to miss.

Dave - I really wish you'd stop referring to the modified Type-2 socket that early EU/UK Tesla's have as "NACS". The "NACS" connection is completely different, & only applies to the US. I worry that you might be introducing more confusion into an already very confusion-rich environment! Great video otherwise - thanks.

I have found Osprey are excellent if you use the app. No pre authorization charges, it's just billed to your account. I used a card once and it kept refusing it and and I ended up with five or six £45 pre authorization charges. Slightly annoying. Osprey are cheaper than those She'll crooks

I stopped at this Banbury site one recent Tuesday Evening and as I have a Model Y, I plugged into one of the dozen Tesla 250kw chargers just out of interest to see how fast it charged. What I did notice though was several non Teslas using these (opened up to non Teslas) superchargers. Weirdly, the Osprey chargers shown here in your video had no one using them as you mentioned.

Well done, nice vlogs. Just a thought, but some apps like Bonnet and Octopus electroverse do offer discounts, albeit small on some of these units. Still outrageous prices, but every little helps if non tesla.

Getting pissed about Tesla chargers opening up to other cars. If they have to they should make them double the price for non Tesla's. I bought a Tesla because of the charging infrastructure, and I knew I was paying for that in the price of the car. If I have to use a 79 pence charger because all the Tesla superchargers a full of other brands then. I may as well sell my Tesla and buy something else. It was a big part of my choice. Elon.

I am enjoyng your output, having followed you from the start. I have a Zoe on lease for another 16 months. I then enviseage buying a newish LFP Model3. (I am wondering if the new upgrade will bring down the used prices).

Which (Android) app do I need to use the Superchargers network with my Renault ZE50?

Did you check the PIzza Hut out? Can you just get, for example, coffee/ cake and use the loos there (as you can at the Instaviolt up the road) or is a full meal obligatory?

I see the chargers are kempower ones. The Norwegian and usa YouTube folk rave about the reliability of them.
