I got a 3 pound tench on my glass fiber 3m whip last friday. Used a 0.22 line and #4 size hook here in Sweden. Now Im hooked on whips because it was so much fun.

Always good videos. I prefer an elasticated whip, less pressure on the fishes mouth

Cracking videos. You fish the whip pretty much exactly the same way I do. Although nowadays I tend to fish my float rod whip style because I kept getting mugged by bigger fish. Keep up the good work! 👍👍👍

My son been pulling a few 3 to 5lb carp in with his mighty 4m whip. All I done is tied some pole elastic to the whip eye to give it some shock absorption. Only lost 3 but that's down to only using light 3lb hook lengths seeing he's fishing for roach and the carp roll in for the maggots/groundbait. Good video bud, whips are a lot more robust than they used to be.

Hi and thanks for the nice comment. If I was not so useless with the laptop I would add music but thanks for the suggestion

I fished a small one acre lake today called the Crucian Pool part of the Riddings fisheries in Warwickshire. Fished it with a running paternoster ledger using just corn as bait and i didnt put much feed out as the bites came quite quickly enough and seeing as its winter the fish tend to feed less. Great days fishing for me only my fourth time fishing within the last 3 weeks or so before that hadnt been fishing in years, only abroad on sea fishing excursions out on a boat.

Caught ten fish in about 5 and half hours fishing. Might seem like not many but on corn you're dismissing the small fry and in winter as you'd know its tougher going. Did catch one small Roach no more than 6 or 7 oz but the rest were a variety of Carp with one Tench all at least a pound. One Crucian was about 2lb two of the Mirrors over 2lb with one just under. Lost two fish as the hook pulled must not have hooked them well enough and missed a good number of bites but since i've been ledgering i've found it tougher to strike at the right time with my bites and of course its slower going than the whip. I'm thinking next time of waggler fishing, i do have a 4m whip but with no rigs made yet and its not elasticated, i plan on making my own rigs and maybe getting it elasticated...though i may end up getting a pole around 8m and getting that elasticated instead. I did have an 8m pole but it broke. I remember as a kid up to about 14 years old all i did was pole fish and when i ledger fished about 3 odd weeks ago it was my first ever time ledgering. I'm drawn into ledgering now due to fishing on the bottom for this time of year, but if the weather can stay fairly mild between now and when i next fish, i'll give the waggler a go on that same lake otherwise i'll ledger somewhere deep. I'm liking your videos, i appreciate you tking the time to make them and the effort, cheers.

Well this is all you need to enjoy yourself and have a good days' fishing. I dont see how fun it can be trying to catch one or two specimen Carp fishing over a whole day or even two days with bite alarms and a bivvy. I say that and maybe one day i'll give it a go but i find this the most fun, pure and simple fishing catching loads of beautiful little fish.

Maybe that could be the theme tune to your videos at the start of each vid? nice song pure and simple fun fishing is what its all about with an uplifting song to illustrate it.
