Bouncy in back has what appear traction bars to prevent axel wrap. Used for drag racing. Nice looking car, looks like it needs tiding up.

As a teen in 1981 I had a light blue 1970 like this one and blew it up trying to make it up an ice-covered hill then left it on the side of the road for the State to pick up, yep sad to say I was a dumb kid.

I didn’t understand why does this Monte have traction bars. I thought those were for vehicles with leafspring suspensions.

The reason why the car is bouncing all over the place like you said is because it has the ladder bars on it that will stiffen up the whole rear end make it like it's riding on two by fours

The ladder bars won't effect the ride. It definitely has air shocks under the rear. Ladder bars only prevent axle rotation when planting HP to the asphalt.
