Throughout the early 2010s, a strange trend emerged in the Roblox community, involving poorly made Roblox games and shenanigans on the forums. Today, I'll be taking a look at Tinfoilbot, the "orb game" community, the Melvin creepypasta, and why the admins made the Deadly Dark Dominus for a troll.

The only reason people thought I was Tinfoilbot was because I bought a paid game that he made, and it made an orange checkmark appear next to my name in the game’s comments. I kinda just toyed with the idea but never had any direct involvement. I did make a Melvin game though 😂

I genuinely believed up until now it was just some troll alter ego of mechawaffle, so this is a fascinating revelation.

The DIY Deadly Dark Dominus actually came out years BEFORE Deadly Dark Dominus. It was on sale for a limited time on April Fools 2016. Probably the only DIY item to come out before the actual hat it's mocking..

by the way, tiktok wasn't the first time the melvin creepypasta resurfaced. i remember watching old roblox myth videos about it in around 2018 that omitted any mention of tinfoilbot, which i believe is where the "hallway game" from the tiktoks originated

I have to thank you for these videos. I'm 19 but have been on the internet as long as I can remember (around 2007 or so) and I used to play Roblox a lot back in the day. This is unlocking parts of my brain that have gone unused for more than a decade.

Very minor correction, but ads were being run for Roblox on other websites by at least June of 2008, as that's how I found out about the site and signed up for it.

Hey, I was involved heavily in the Orb Community back in around 2015. This was a good video covering all the events around Tin, but I will say that the community he spawned, especially back then, was less than pleasant to be around. There was a lot of mob mentality, ableism, and if you're considered "copying" another person then that's warrants constant harassment and hate for years and years. I should know this, especially since I have been harassed and mobbed by it's community several times, even years after I left it's community. I'm hoping that the community itself has grown past that mob mentality stuff, since the entire thing was only really meant to be for jokes and laughs.

I'm happy that you mentioned Thomasfan, one of my closest friends, in this video atleast. He was one of the few shining spots during my time in the community, being extremely polite and fun to be around, and he deserves to be remembered as such.

Really great video dude! I’m actually in the middle of writing a script for a video about the DDD. I believe their might have been 30 chaser codes for 30 DDD. I have photos of the shipping boxes for the frostbite general, which show how many were produced. I also have one unopened myself!

I’m still curious as to how the community found out plas was tinfoilbot. From what you showed in the video, it appears that nobody really noticed the thing with the URL. Was the explanation video when they found out or, did people know prior?
