Your IF videos literally changed my life. I quickly lost the "last 10lbs" that have been hanging over me the last 15 years. I feel incredible. For the first New Years ever I don't have lose weight for a resolution!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I got my mom addicted to it as well. Her arthritis is all but gone now!

My late grandma taught me to 'check the back view before you leave home' but this was a great reminder ! LOVE your hair with layers, very fresh. Hi from Australia xx

Oh this is so relatable. This happened to me this year in Nutcracker - thought all was well...until I looked in the mirror from behind.... 2 huge rips in my tights. Had to totally get out of the tutu, pointe shoes, etc, and restart. Haha so I'm so right there with you!

Jennifer!!
This is such a great video, thank you!! This is also a lesson I learned from my most wise Mom! She also believed that the little details really DO matter. Details in home making, in gift giving, in spreading frosting on cakes, on displaying pretty towels, on hemming my hems, polishing my shoes, daily smoothing out the sheets of my bed while making it….and so much more! ❤️
All of this includes looking at the back of my hair and body and taking time to groom my feet!! She lived her life well, was not a prisoner to perfection….but just lived her life paying attention to the details!! You also seem to live your life similarly!
What a great reminder to me!!
I was literally thinking of this VERY topic yesterday as I fixed my hair and took a mirror to view the back of my hair only to discover my stubborn cowlick was exposing the back of my scalp as usual!
You may not realize this….but you are actually teaching Etiquette….and many
Parenting issues when you post videos such as this. I am in my 60’s….but I TRIED to pass these things onto our 4 children. Reminder: our children learn by our example….but it is wise to take the time to teach them these things verbally. Us Mamas get pretty busy and forget sometimes that they need to hear (from our lips) how all of this works!!! And they would be delighted to hear silly stories of what may have happened when we did NOT check the back of our bodies before leaving the house!🥰 (I’ve got a few of those!)
Again….thank you so much for your videos.
PS, your hair is just adorable as it seems you have added some layers! Also…I am just beginning to do a bit of Intermittent Fasting…..so thank you for that, also!!
Happy New Year, Jennifer!!!❤️

I'm so thankful you aren't afraid to say that leggings and yoga pants aren't real pants!!! Everyone I know wears them and it makes me cringe that I used to 😖

I have a #6 for you....check your posture and shoulders from behind. I never knew how much I slouch my shoulders until I saw a pic...it is something I need to work on for sure! Loved all of your tips, have a great week!

I am so pleased to hear someone actually explain why pantyhose or nylons can make a person‘s appearance look polished .
I tend also to have ashy skin a few small veins and hose always look great so unless you have fantastic legs it is completely appropriate and fashionable to wear nylons if worn correctly.
There’s nothing quite like seeing someone in January with white goose bumps on her legs with a shorter dress and flaws and not wearing pantyhose because suddenly someone decided it wasn’t fashionable 🤷‍♀️

You have given me so many helpful hints. I want to share some of my tips with you. For dry, cracked feet, add 1/2 cup of powdered milk to warm water and soak your feet for at least 20 minutes. (Remember Cleopatra’s milk baths.) This softens to dry skin and you can easily exfoliate it away. A few years ago, I gave this tip to a friend who did this 5 days straight. She said that her feet looked brand new.
Second tip, recently I watched an old video where you mentioned that you have eczema on your hands. I have had a life-long issue with eczema until I discovered the Eczema & Psoriasis Treatment Cream by Om Botanicals. It was developed by a man in North Carolina for his son who had severe eczema. This cream stops the itchy, burning, stinging sensation and helps the rash to heal faster. Best of all, it contains no steroids.

Thank you for mentioning yoga pants, I’m a yoga instructor and a personal trainer so I need to wear yoga pants Monday-Friday! Being inspired by you I decided to try harder to stay classy: I purchased all black yoga pants that could pass as leggings and I wear a long cardigan or a long slouchy sweater in between classes as I run into stores. I will also bring a pair of ballet flats 🥿 to switch to if I’m meeting someone for lunch. I always have on my favorite simple little lotus earrings that are easy to exercise in and class up my “outfit” for lunches errands etc… Mireille Guiliano also mentions how to wear leggings, a favorite of hers, in a chic way in her book French Women Don’t Get Fat.

As I wear hair extensions due to thin hair (nothing overdone) I check om my back side of the head on daily basis. Essential for a polished look in my opinion. When it comes to heels - I take great care of my feet and make sure both heels and toe nails are always polished and well groomed. I do yoga few times a week and walk barefoot in the studio (alert other people around) plus I as a reg. nurse that can't have polished nails I find great joy in grooming my feet and polishing my toe nails. My hands are just moisturized with short trimmed nails. Love love your videos! And books! And Happy New Year! Make the best of it!

A great reminder to us all, Jennifer. As a style coach I often notice these things too. It is so easy to take care of, but can really ruin one’s image.

I purchased that foot rasp a couple of years ago based on your recommendation. The best $8 ever spent. I love it!

In the winter a good pair of tights are a sure fire way to get a smooth finish with your trousers.

Great video as usual. Undergarments are so very important in dressing well. I only wear shapers if I am going to be out of the house. Around the house, underneath my dresses, I typically wear bicycle shorts ( summer) and plain ol’ leggings or yoga pants (winter). These eliminate any lines, prevent chafing, smoothes jiggly bits, and most important of them all - keeps things modest if I should ever have a wardrobe “malfunction”. Lol

What a fabulous video. I stumbled upon your channel less than a month ago. I purchased your Madam Chic book and I am really enjoying making my way through it. I spent my 20’s living in South America. I worked in my in-laws very prestigious, bilingual school. They too are very European inspired, cutting their hamburgers and hotdogs with a knife and fork 🍴 and the formal after noon tea ☕️ ( merienda). I am so happy I found you here on YouTube, it’s a breath of fresh air. I have pulled out my fine China and eat off it everyday. P..S I take ritual vitamins every morning too, they are a life saver for sure!

This made me smile so very much. A few months ago, we took a small hike on vacation. The video footage was most unkind. 🤣 I immediately made a few wardrobe adjustments.

For me one key aspect to looking good from behind is to choose the right bottom piece, I only wear skirts, and it took me almost 10 years to realize what style I look my best… thanks for all the great tips

I think it is brilliant that you thought to do a video on this topic. While I definitely struggle with some of these my biggest struggle from behind is my posture. It will look fine from the front but from behind I often round my shoulders or let the pelvis tilt back. For me if I change how I distribute weight to my feet it corrects the problem. But do you think I ever remember to do it? 🤦🏻‍♀️
