Floor Plan in Microsoft Word using Easy Measurement and Scaling Technique

preview_player
Показать описание

The scaling method that i m going to use in this tutorial is called the linear or graphic scale. You might also call it as the map scale. When this is verbally expressed it is called Verbal Scale. This is different from Numerical or Representative Fraction scanning method.

According to this scaling method a unit of measurement in a map or a plan can be corresponded to the size units of real world measurements.

For example: 1cm = 1ft, 1 inch = 1 mile, 1mm = 1km

This means that 1cm on the plan corresponds to 1ft in the real world size. The advantage of this scaling method is that its easy to understand, even a common man can easily make out the measurements without doing any kind of calculation. Even if you reprint the plan to the actual size the drawing is simply enlarged and there would not be any problem in the measurement.

This kind of scaling method is commonly used in mapping and landscaping projects.

I am so happy that I have accidentally come upon your website. 😂 So easy to follow and have the same results. I can't wait to get started on drawing my building design ideas. You deserve to get the trophy for "the really old man needs help" category. Thanks so much. I'm telling people about your website. Thank you again.

Omg this kicks ass! I use Word at work, & need to make a plot map so I can submit it to the assessors office to start the permit process for an addition to my home now that I got caught & have a stop work notice posted on my home.

This was very informative. Your English language and commentary were very clear and good. There are many people who have computers with MS Words and very few with AutoCAD and other such luxury software. This tutorial will help many in using MS Word to draw simple plans although it is tidious and takes time but it is worth it. In my opinion if the floor plan is in Imperial units of measurement the grild should follow that. The conversion is easy if 1cm=1ft, means 0.25cm, 0.50cm, 0.75cm, 1.0cm would be 3, 6, 9, 12 inches respectively, however, if grid is 1in=1ft will make it lot easier. Overal it is a great presentation and there are few man like yourself out there who take time and share their knowledge to help countless people. Great contribution. Thank you for sharing.
