This is great! I also did a video essay objectification recently, although mine is sort of a stand-up video essay.

Nussbaum is right on the money when it comes to sexual interactions. There are men who choose to be objectified by women in the bedroom, or who are designed to be the receiver of a sexual experience and they are compatible with women who are designed to enjoy giving a sexual experience to such a man. Sex is a biological function. The problem is that most women don’t know how to enjoy it because the male gaze is so prevalent that many of us have to take on an imaginary male ego in order to endure it in some instances. There are social sanctions for feminine lust whereas for men it’s a complete free for all.

Something that has been bugging me for a few weeks now... Is it wrong to admire someone's (its a celebrity) physical and mental traits without their consent? Just appreciating their beauty and talent. Does admiring their beauty come under objectification? Is it right to make fan edits without their consent?

I should read that Nussbaum paper... it seems pretty intuitive to me that some forms of objectification are fine. If there's an emergency, and I say to someone "hey you! Call 911!" - I'm using them instrumentally AND not taking into acount their will, agency or desires...but it also seems acceptable.
