"Chuck E.'s in love with the little girl singing this song." I was in love with her too!

Rickie Lee is a singular talent in the blues/pop genre. Such a distinctive voice, both experienced and innocent simultaneously, makes us climb aboard along with her on all her journeys. She makes you feel cooler just listening to her.

Back in the early 80s, Rickie was The Cool Girl on the music scene. A great singer, great songwriter, and the epitome of cool. Can't go wrong listening to more.

Rickie Lee was a sensation. I often wonder if the raspberry beret she wore was the inspiration for Prince's song. I knew a couple of girls that bought one after seeing hers. I caught her live in Houston, Texas on July 30, 1979 and still have the ticket stub. $6.50 for a fantastic show. Thanks for the fun reaction you two! Love your channel.

There are so many songs that will lift you from any point of despair. Her music is light and love, and some horrible sadness but that she conveys it so realistically joins us together in our sadness so that we're never alone. There are very few artists who have had the impact on me that Rickie has. You might try "Last Chance Texaco", "Night Train", "Livin It Up", "Must Be Love", just to mention a few. They are all heart-lifting and will ease you any time you feel alone.

I have this album. I love this album. It's full of great tunes. Rickie Lee was in between the Hippies and the Beatniks of Greenwich Village, NYC. A jazzy, funk groove. Unique. ☮💛🎶

This is probably one of the best debuts of a musician ever. She sings with a voice from the streets in a playful way. Not a bad song on the whole album. Last Chance Texeco being my favorite. Do yourself a favor and buy this album. You will not regret it.

I remember Rick Lee Jones it's was 1979 the start of the 80's, this is when we had no idea that the new wave was coming soon. Peace✌️ and Love❤️ your 70 year old forever Young Hippie Gary 😊 Great Reaction👍

Deep deep deep, soulful, serious talent. Her singing brings you to a place that demands your attention. She and Tom Waits were partners for a time; they equal in their emotional depth, and their ability to translate it into to both their songs. Explore her, and him, more; you'll be emotionally rewarded. Enjoy.

I love how you summed up a throuple situation in a no-big-deal manner with about four words and a hand gesture. It takes skill to be that economical and precise with language.
And of course, the song is so damn fine.

He even combed his hair, LOL! Love, love, love RLJ. She has been one of my favs since this debut LP came out. She has many, many wonderful songs. Some silly and charming like this one, some heartbreaking too. I hope you get a chance to explore more of her music. Thanks for sharing this one!

I loved her as soon as I heard/saw her perform on Saturday Night Live. Her first two albums were favourites of mine, but then I sort of lost track of her.
