brilliant. Its strange to see how few people actually use a linisher. ive seen puzzle makers, toy makers, model makers all struggling to shape things on large flat sanders.
Superb to see someone actually tangling with the mechanics of this tool.

The idea is that it can work with either. Nice to have something like this that doesn't get used every day that can run from an ordinary drill.

I give you a lot of credit, John as I never could have thought of something like that. Well done. And, yes, I do agree that a metal one would be better over all but as you pointed out not everyone has that extra $200 or so to buy one. Plus many, like you like the satisfaction of making their own units. Again, Kudos!

At first I was going to make a cradle for the drill but thought I give it a try without it. There is a bit more vibration like this, so I would probably make a cradle if I were to use the drill to drive it. Eventually, I'll be driving this one with a small motor.

This one will run on a hand held drill or can be connected to a small motor, to make it more permanent.

You could, however, get a motor which isn't a hand-drill, which IMO would improve it. They're generally cheap, and you can even get them from old washing machines and the like!

What an AWESOME idea! I have an older corded Rockwell drill/driver that I could dedicate to this type of thing. Do you plan to release detailed build plans? Thanks!

You can run battery operated drills off old car batterys, if the battery runs out, it's a very common practise.

well nice idea. but how many time you have to charge the battery?? will not last lond and after while you start to loose the power of sander. but nice idea

it'll be most useful, if the plan includes thesander to work with a hand drill. most of us could afford it.
