Giffany is possessive as hell and she makes that clear to Soos through guilt shaming (i.e we had a deal, etc.) and manipulation (i.e "noone else will love you" or "everyone will just make fun of you"). I'm actually impressed by how accurate a Disney show was able to portray that toxicity.

Alright look, from Giffany's POV, she's technically up until this exact instance trapped in this fictional world where she has no means of interacting with real people who aren't NPC's also trapped in this dimension.

She did this because the minute Soos seeks other interests then that means Giffany will be trapped and alone again.

Giffany should have taken advantage of her newfound freedom when she discovered she can phase thru Electronic Currents and moved on without Soos.

If Giffany had continued to explain to Soos why real life girls are bad and that they're unpredictable and will turn on you in the blink of an eye while expressing concern for his emotional well being and showing bouts of sadness at him leaving her, she might've been able to keep him in her life.

However, she got bossy, angry, possessive and scary so of course Soos paused her and opted to take her back to the gaming store.
