I have been on several cruises but not since before the pandemic.
Have learned so much from your videos. Thanks so much.

We live in Jacksonville, FL, we always go the day before. Jason, as you said it's just more enjoyable and who needs the stress! One time we did drive down to Miami the morning of our cruise and I was a little nervous the whole drive, but we made it. I use Hotwire for the hotel and I always get a nice beach front hotel for the night on the cheap :)

I love the Oasis-class ship, but I don't find myself doing a lot of planning other than choosing early dining. I prefer early dining shows I can go to the shows in the evening and do other fun ship activities. I do one specialty dining either for lunch or dinner. For me that's enough. As far as planning my days, I plan certain shows, games, and dances.

The little things that made a cruise special have all been cut back. Many on carnival.

I'm not a big fan of being on a schedule for everything you do aboard a cruise ship. As a matter of fact, we have a cruise coming up and instead of flying to the port we're driving (approximately 450 miles). You have much more control and freedom when you have your own vehicle, i.e. unexpected change of plans or a voluntary plan change. I know this won't work everyone especially if the cruise port is a very long distance away, but it sure works for us on the shorter distances.
As for prices, as long as people keep paying, prices will continue to rise. When you think about it, do you really need to pay extra for anything? Think of how many people don't and are totally satisfied with their cruise experience. I understand these are personal choices and it's your choice to make...

We are trying the sun princess in 2025 with the premier package and deluxe extended balcony. It was cheaper than msc yacht club, royal Caribbean and NCL for the same itinerary. We saved about 1600$. Don't get me wrong....we are going to try different cruise ships. But for the price in this particular situation, princess was the way to go. SAIL ON EVERYONE!!

You just have to keep on eye on your specialty dining package prices, it changes by a hounded dollars or more. IF you don't like the price that you get it three days before your cruise, then just cancel it, I have always had a great price before my cruise starts.

Jason, after seeing you talk about the Teppanyaki, at Izumi, I called Royal, to see which ships it is offered. Much to my surprise, only Odyssey OTS, and Spectrum OTS, have it. That is a disappointment. They should add it, on more ships that have Izumi.

You have to plan your entertainment, so plan that then plan your dinner around the entertainment

Royal has unlimited dinning package is the only way I go, it’s too expensive as a one off dinners

The main thing I’ve learned from going on my first cruise as an adult last week: don’t go on a cruise unless you have a girlfriend

Have you ever heard of people living full time on cruise ships??

The Major snafu, post pandemic, is all cruise lines are giving you sooo much less, for the price, while wanting to nickle and dime you for everything else, in order to pay down their massive debt. We didn't ask them to build these Icon class monstrosities. They need to start, building that new class of smaller ships they talked about. The Oasis class is as big as they should have built. These Icon ships will start havibg ALOT of empty cabins, after the 1st year. Nobody is gping to keep paying over $2k for an inside, SERIOUSLY!
