I'm pretty sure Walham Green would have been one of the potential names. It was the name of Fulham Broadway station until the 1950s as well as the surrounding area.

All nice history, BUT: The Earls Court location is in Chelsea, the space available would permit a larger number of seats, and therefore a higher match income, Earls Court sits atop of three of London’s busiest Underground Lines, of special significance including the Piccadilly Line. The new stadium should be the start of a new Chelsea FC life, lasting well into the future as the Bridge has done. Finally, during construction at Earls Court, the team can go on playing at the Bridge, and the fans can keep watching our matches there, instead of going off to some temporary location like Wembley, or settling for sharing some other club’s stadium. Please, let us not be short-sighted about this important decision.
