Hey Guy! Thanks for the great Video. I think one of the greatest things about the compositions of Lyle Mays and Pat Metheny are all the different motives in each song. One tune of the PMG seems to consist of so many musical ideas, with which others would form hundreds of songs. Everything is connected in such a logical way, but you still cannot predict what's being played next. Of course most these great melodies are coming from Pat Metheny, but I think without Lyle, he would have become more like other jazz guitarists, who have their melodies and then solo on it. The contributions of Lyle Mays (his Interludes, Intros etc.) really make all the difference. I hope you continue analyzing this great music! It's an honor to receive these analysis' for free! Take it Easy!
