The band kicked the show off with their first single "Cochise". Followed by "Light My Way", "Gasoline", a second shot at "Cochise", "Like A Stone", and "Set It Off".

The band did Cochise twice, once for Letterman and another time as part of the mini-set

My top 3 favourite singers:

1. Audioslave’s vocalist
2. Soundgarden’s frontman
3. Chris Cornell

I met Chris Cornell randomly at the mall one day. I freaked out, I didn't know what to do, but he was SOO nice and invited me to go on a walk with him. It was the best day of my life. We miss you, Chris. Rest in peace forever.

What i always found fascinating about Chris Cornell was how effortless he made it look. Insane talent.

Cornell was so good at using his voice like an instrument. Instead of just singing lyrics, it's like guitar riffs from his vocal chords.

I remember the "complaint" was: "It's just Rage Against the Machine with the Soundgarden singer." My response: "So?"

I once heard someone say of Chris Cornell, “nobody else can rock that hard with one hand in their pocket.”

That performance of Cochise is other-worldly. Proud to say Cornell is my favourite artist and vocalist. He really delivered.

For everyone under 25 reading this, there's something you gotta understand about how powerful this debut was at that time (2002). Just barely a year removed from the events of 9/11, at a time when New Yorkers (and the country) were still very much looking up in fear, to look up that night at the beautiful artistry and raw power of a new powerhouse rock band was uplifting beyond explanation.

Dude he had a voice like no other.. Not many have a voice that can keep up with a band like that but he dominated.. Still can't believe he's gone.. He had so much more to offer..
