You Can't Miss This Street Food In Luang Prabang | LAOS 🇱🇦
Показать описание
Today we're off out in Luang Prabang to try a legendary Lao khao soi that my mate Gary over at @theroamingcook says is one of the best bowls of noodles he's ever eaten... 🇱🇦
We made our way to aunty's shop and ordered 2 big bowls of lao khao soi with added crispy pork in there to be cheeky! These set us back 35k laos kip each.
I'll be honest I don't usually trust when people say somewhere is one of 'the best' places but these khao soi noodles really delivered. I have to say it was in my top 5 noodle dishes I've eaten - I'm not qualified enough yet to make a serious judgement haha.
The Lao style clear broth was incredible with all the add ins - the lime, mint, chilli paste with garlic, lettuce, cress, green beans. The pork khao soi mixture was incredibly good, rich tomato flavour goodness.
It really was heaven in a bowl and the little chilli's dipped into the shrimp paste lap style really went perfectly with everything.
Make sure you check out Gary's channel over at @theroamingcook he's a top bloke and really does know his stuff 🤙
Khao soi spot: Miraculously this place has so little reviews - the famous one is never the best!

We then headed off to a little local coffee shop where we grabbed some iced americanos with local coffee grown in Luang Prabang, they set us back 20k laos kip each which isn't the cheapest but they were really good. We also had some classic khao lam with the coffee which is sticky rice and coconut milk grilled over fire in the bamboo.
Luang Prabang is on the Mekong River so I take a look down by the river banks at the stunning jungle views before we head over to our favourite laos sandwich lady in luang Prabang.
For 15k laos kip she makes a seriously good khao jee with all kinds of ingredients jam packed inside. There's vietnamese sausage, egg, pork floss, minced pork, herbs, chilli paste, this is one not to be missed outside the school in luang Prabang.
We then met a lovely bloke who's recently moved back to luang Prabang Laos from California, we had a chat about all the local foods and we got some oily Sai oua (laos sausage) for 10k lao kip each and took them to our hotel to try!
Before I called it a day the rabbit in our hotel escaped and me, leesh and the family had to capture it again ready for the Chinese New year!
