This is not dry material, I for one think it is exactly what your serious viewers and subscribers want and need especially those of us that are just beginning on our hand man journey. Thanks again for taking the time to do this for us. Having been in the army for 30 years in maintenance, kits are the only way to go the same goes for “Kits” as for inventory when I ran a maintenance shop I hand an inventory of at least on of every part for every piece of equipment the shop supported. We would have had more but space required and funds were the limiting factors it made the shop way efficient. There is a big deference in Value and price.

The more I do this work, the more I understand that being organized is a critical part of making more money.

Great stuff, Ray. I cannot thank you enough for all your vids. I just relocated my business to a larger town. Got my binders distributed last week and had 2 jobs booked the same day I distributed them. Your system works and you areca good man. Sincere thanks

Man i used to keep a bin twice that size of all kinds of chemicals. Consider another bin to protect yer rusty van floor, ive had all kinds of chemistry experiments in my bin... acids, rusted epoxy and poly fillers and resins leakin out old plstic jugs... definitely worth isolating chemicals from van and tools and chemicals from each other the best ya can.

The bathtub overflow tool is surely one that comes in handy but correct don’t use it often. Having this kind of inventory saves you half the time on jobs running to the store!

Good stuff. Lol, the shut-off valves... YES! Just changed a bathroom faucet yesterday... went to turn the shut-off valve and the friggin handle broke right off and started spraying water directly out the vanity door... had to scramble to do water control... followed by main shut off...then water cleanup before I could even start. Everything that could go wrong did. So yeah, I plan to stock a bunch of 1/4 turn valves in a variety of sizes. My sink kit is now going to include extra braded hoses, shut off valves, towels, a small bucket (lol), the wrenches, city disconnect tool....

This was a great video and I definitely enjoyed it. I need to get to this point where I have a kit for every job. I do right now I’m hardly at the point where I have a kit for each trade that I do but I am getting there. Love the video.

When I worked maintenance at a property management company we maintained a specific list of inventory so we almost always had what was needed for the vast majority of jobs. We would often have 10+ stops to make in a day and 8 was the norm, so efficiency was of utmost importance.

I’m debating whether or not I want to start my handyman business up again, it was ‘08 - ‘10 that I last operated and that was mostly under the radar type of work.

Keep putting the good content out there and maybe I’ll get off the sidelines and into the game again!

Yeah, boring if you don't care about efficiency and maximizing productive time. It kept me engaged and interested though. I like that it's simple and cost effective. A bunch of the same Husky, or whatever, boxes and nothing fancy. Just does what you need it to do.

My question is where did you find the grey bins with separators in them. They were not on your amazon page. Thanks for your help in advance and for what you are doing now

Have you ever been to a job that is out of your comfort zone and capabilities? My first two jobs were bigger than expected. One needed an entire dryer circuit board and the other had a busted pipe and an overflowed septic tank…

You should let me send you a video of my inventory/truckload out and critique me and give me advice as a brand. New handyman.

How to maintain your inventory. Do you replace things as you use them daily or weekly? Do you go to the store or orders online?

You have a better selection than home depot lol

Be very careful where you install those flexible "snappy traps" some areas in the United states do not allow flexible p traps, also those can be a massive breeding ground for bacteria, and make the sink smell bad, seen it first hand

I was wondering, how do you handle coordinating your schedule with the renter? Do you call/text them the day before and give them a 2 hour window of when you expect to arrive?
