FINALLY!!!

I can show you guys what I consider the most pivotal video/project I did in my career with the help of some of my most talented friends…

If there is ONE THING I would love to leave as a legacy it’s the attempt to build a bridge between classis barbering and classic hairdressing as for me the love for hair has no gender, I simply love the POWER OF A HAIRCUT…

Some of you might remember the viral video of me buzzing Roxy’s beautiful long hair down to a guard two while Jelle took photo’s of the improvised haircuts in between…

Batsie and me became long distance friends and when she told me she wanted to take another class @The Old School Barber Academy I made her an offer she couldn’t refuse the idea for a new shoot was born…

I got together my dreamteam, my old and dear friend Paul, makeup artists of the stars, Jaff, one of the most genius stylists I know and of course the OG REUZEL squat, Jelle, Woet and @joramvdgeer for visuals…

We got together at the house of blood and brainstormed for hours until we had a list of ICONS that changed the world with their looks and attitude, breaking all the rules of conformity and gender, natural born rebels way ahead of their time…

The first in a serie of TEN 😱 who inspired us is of course Marléne Dietrich who was one of the most controversial characters of her time… Openly bi-sexual, polyamorous, wearing “men” suits and hi-top hats (The Paris police once warned her if she wear pants she’d be arrested) flaunting her masculinized femininity, paving the road for next generations…

I can go on but I highly suggest you read one of her biographies, she was no saint, but what’s the fun in that right..?

I took Batsie’s lengths and used the Reuzel fiber gel to finger wave and create a 40’s / 50’s look (Dietrich’s hair was longer, but again, we didn’t want to copy, but tribute)

You guys will find out how absolutely BRILLIANT Jaff’s styling is in the next 9 days but even this first look gives me goosebumps… TO BE CONTINUED…
