In today's video I am showing you lots of techniques to add depth and texture to your collage art journal pages. But first of all, why would you be interested in depth and texture on a journal page?

Adding depth and texture to your collage art journal pages can significantly enhance visual appeal and artistic impact. Textured elements draw the viewer's attention, is more visually interesting, and can hold the viewer's gaze for longer. Also, textured collages offer a tactile experience. When people can touch or feel the texture in your artwork, it creates a more engaging and memorable connection.

I've got 26 examples of how to add depth and texture to your pages. I also demonstrate the one example that I get asked about the most (it involves tissue paper).

Nice video, great ideas. I came across one paper artist who put together bundles of paper tied them up and left them outside tied to her fence. I think they were out there for several months and the results were beautiful.

I enjoyed seeing these beautiful journals very much. They have such a perfect variety of materials in each one. Corrugated cardboard is always a fun texture! I love that it can be flattened or left as is, torn randomly or cut cleanly, painted or not...and it has such a unique sound in a journal!

Love the way you did the book page journal cover. It looks much easier than modge podge, and easier to control the consistency. Thank you for the printable as well.

Margaret, what technique did you use on the page that’s opposite to a page with the magnet? Those flowers on the right hand side of a ledger page are to die for! ❤
