It's a shame that basil the second never had any children because it ended the Golden Age they came from the Macedonian Dynasty everything went downhill after that

I think the Byzantine Empire could have survived at least another hundred years if the Fourth Crusade it didn't kill it I think you would fall probably in the 1550s cuz it have to do with the Mongols Tamerlane the black death and revolts, bulgarians and serbians and probably minor Civil War but it would give it another hundred years of life and it would delay the Ottoman Empire expansion into the Balkans
