Wondermelon is the superlative cover ska band from Orange County. We perform popular songs reimagined and transformed into ska and reggae. Our horn section and our infectious energy sets us apart from most cover bands. Wondermelon's repertoire reaches back to the classics of the 80s ,90s, 00s as well as contemporary hits. Wondermelon has it's roots in Orange County 3rd wave ska. The founders of Wondermelon came up skanking the pit circles in front of Goldfinger, Reel Big Fish, No Doubt, the Aquabats, Suburban Legends, Starpool, and Jeffrey's Fan Club.
Inspired by their schoolmates, Suburban Legends, they formed their own high school ska band, 'tBa', and recorded an EP "the official bootleg" and an album called "Wondermelon".
Since the 2000s Wondemelon members have played with bands such as: Skadonna, The Holophonics, The Littlest Man Band, No Duh, Stupid Flanders, Skapeche Mode and Calypso's Curse.
They're coming together now and combining all of that history and experience to transform the significant songs of our time through unique reimagination. In the world of Wondermelon, Everything Is Ska, Reggae, Punk-Ska ... or all three at once!
Wondermelon has brought they're spin on popular hits to the Orange County Fair (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024) and the Orange International Street Fair (2020,2021,2022,2023) as well as many private events.
Wondermelon's repertoire isn't all covers though. Recently they have been developing Original Songs that they have been debuting live such as "Anacrusis" and "Don't Want".
Check them out at their next local show to experience nostalgia, new intrigue, and great vibes.
