Nike Air Zoom TEMPO NEXT% - First Impressions REVIEW - today I am giving you my unfiltered thoughts on the nike air zoom tempo next%. This is a shoe that when it was advertised back earlier in the year, I really wanted. I wasn't fussed on the alphafly but this caught my eye as a training shoe, my theory was I would get lots of the alphafly technology in a more durable and affordable package. Today we cover the technical specifications and my first impressions of the nike air zoom tempo next%.

Let me know if you picked up a pair of the tempo next% and what your thoughts are! I'd also love to hear if you have the alphafly and what you find the differences are!

Love the rant mate. Definitely send it back with a note to Nike, "Must do better!"

I have to say I’m a wide footed size 12 and I love them. Have 4%, next% and alphas and I think they’re definitely up there in terms of the best shoes I’ve picked up from Nike.
Appreciate what you’re saying regarding the TC’s but they last for what, 200-250 miles? They’re lighter but much less durable. My infinity reacts have lasted 1100 miles and are still going. I expect these are going to last at least 600 miles so for the money they’re absolutely bang on as a marathon training shoe. I’ll be interested to hear how you get on once you’ve worn them a few more times.

Loved the review. Well done mate. Kelly felt very differently but she has not tried any other played shoes yet. Have you seen her review? I am excited to try these. My love for the Alphafly Next% was a slow burner but I can’t hide how efficient I am in them. Lower HR for effort compared with every other shoe bar Next%. I’m looking forward to seeing an efficiency comparison using these too.

How did you get on the priority list for this as i thought they are not our till this weekend? Personally i think we can all do tempo training in ANY pair of comfortable running shoes.

Ditto Andy, took mine for 6miles last night, noisy, slapping and squeaking!
Also experienced hot spot under my left foot from the pods. Sending them back tomorrow lol

Very heartfelt rant! A few others have put out similar rants as well in the last couple of days. Thanks for this, will be steering clear.

I know everyone is different, but for me this was the perfect shoe to run a marathon! Last November I ran the virtual NYC Marathon in 5:40:35 with the pegasus 37.
And 2 days ago, I ran the St Louis Marathon with the tempo next % in 4:46:30 so it worked really well for me 🤷

Thanks Andy, I think I will skip this shoe. I have been eying the NB Fuel RC that will drop on the 15th here in the US.

This FlyKnit is definitely different than the VF 4% FK and other flyknit shoes. I found it to be less stretchy, more plasticky, but more breathable. I'd say the tongue is pretty much the same as the VF 4% FK though.

Great first impressions! I agree with it being noisy, too heavy, not having that smooth rocker and pop like other carbon shoes, and just being a bit of a confusing shoe in general.

It was so clear right from the specs sheet that Nike was messing up with the different tech here. This possible purchase never crossed my mind. Great review, as always. Now I move on Edd one.

Just taken mine out for their first spin. Uppers feel like the 4% to me but weirdly i love them! I must have a foot and run style that suits them

Just ran a marathon with them, very happy. Fun and good looking shoes.

Is it strange that this has restored my faith in humanity. In a year of great shoes and glowing reviews setting you review this and saying its absolute trash is refreshing.

9:52 I agree! I too have a wider foot and feel like Flyknit is horrible for running, it always gives me unnecessary blisters.
