We'll show you how we grow lots of organically grown sweet corn at home, in raised beds.nWe grow sweet corn at home because we can choose the varieties we like, it's difficult to find fresh organic sweet corn to buy, and it's expensive to buy. The flavor of freshly harvested homegrown organic sweet corn is amazing! Did you know that the flavor of the corn is affected by the amount of time that passes after it's harvested?

There are a few things we've learned to do over the years to help us have great corn harvests. We know there are different growing conditions and garden pests to deal with in different areas and growing zones, so we hope you can use some or all of these tips to help you find what works for you. We do have a fence around our garden, which helps keep deer out, knock on wood. We prefer to use organic methods while growing our corn, which we share in this video.

We put a radio out in our corn patch we run a extension cord out an drive a iron T post an hang a small older cassette/fm radio an turn it on a station that plays all night to keep coons an deer out we keep a big blue feed tub on top to keep it dry. You won't have a problem with them.

Edit: we do this when they start to grow ears but you could do it from beginning to harvest time.

Next thing ya know you're getting some honey bee hives to help stimulate pollination... and honey, you do need a bit of distance between your bees and your hives though. Happy to have found you! Just discovered Reed this late spring. I sort of feel a little part of one big happy family. I would love to grow something in my yard. Do you have any advice for growing things in the Tucson area? So darn hot and sunny.
