There shouldn't be any talks. He wasn't captured. No one forced him to intentionally cross the border. This reminds me of Griner who was used to traveling internationally and didn't bother to check her luggage. A five-minute job at most and look at all that ensued. These people are adults. Let them be fully accountable for their actions.

Travis King has made several poor decisions leading up to this encounter. Let him remain in North Korea but if he is returned to the United States he should face a severe prison sentence and be dishonorably discharged from the military immediately. His blatant disregard and poor decision making along with transversing across the border into North Korea should be addressed with a stiff prison sentence in Leavenworth!

I know it’s so stupid, nothing else needed to be said after the one story about him running across the border, he was free to make his choices leave him there

He wanted to go there. What’s the problem?

The US should give North Korea $1 million bucks to keep him.

We should leave him there because he made his own decisions

We all know what's happening to Travis in North Korea being used as a puppet for war

I support our military, BUT he made the choice. Leave him there. IF he is brought home, he should be treated as a traitor. I feel for his family, but not him...

Show him a Popeyes chicken from the border. He will run back.

Just let him be where he's at. If he thinking this countrys harsh punishment was way too much for him to take, well he chose to run there, well let him deal with that country's lenient punishment. Unless it was his fight or flight instinct that kicked in w/o him realizing what was happening, then he's just a coward. We need no more cowards in this country.

If Travis is liberated through negotiations and a costly ransom, he should be given a ticker-tape parade and the Distinguished Service Cross. Just forget about a court- martial and a less than honorable discharge. Give that young man a direct commission to captain. We need more fugitive/defectors, sorry, I mean soldiers, like him.

Another Darwin Award here. Even the worst punishment by the military at Fort Leavenworth doesn’t come close to what North Korea will do to him. Second, he was being allowed to fly back to the states alone so that means he wasn’t in really serious trouble. Natural selection may eliminate this guy.

So they can bring him back and jail him in America instead?😂 Let him stay.... He made his dumb choice

I’m in the U.S. Army and we have to bring him back because if you never served in the U.S. Army then you wouldn’t know we have a soldiers creed we must follow. It’s the rules and maybe even the law. One of them is “I will never leave a fallen comrade”. He’s my comrade, a co-worker, we have to bring him back.
