Mount & blade: warband is one of my favorite games. You can play vanilla and ride around in Calradia or you can play mods that basically turn the game into whatever time period and franchise you want: lord of the rings, skyrim, warhammer, the Roman Empire, the Bronze Age, the Napoleonic wars, the renaissance, the Victorian age and the dark ages.
The dlcs are also good: with fire & sword is probably my favorite, Napoleonic wars is a great multiplayer experience and Viking conquest which is just vanilla with more content from Brytenwalda.
