This is exactly what I was looking for. I was working on ball joint replacement and just grazed over the boot. Thank you for sharing this video! Beats replacing entire boot or axle!

I used the permatex car window adhesive/sealer. The stuff is black, very sticky, high VOC and has really held up. It will not easily come off any surface it adheres to and it is flexible. It seems to work well with the rubber cv boot.

Thanks for this video. I saw they had cv boot repair kits that came with a split boot so you didn't have to take the axle out. They come with an adhesive that you put down the split to make it secure. The split in the boot in the repair kit is bigger than any split I've seen in a CV boot! Looking up rubber adhesive and it's cyanoacrylate aka super glue. Thanks for the confirmation!

You confirmed what my research was telling me but I thought it was too good to be true. Thanks for the help!

Super glue, 6000, vocanized rubber tire repair, black windshield glue. You can also use a needle on grease gun to incert grease then seal the hole with superglue.

Will do exactly the same. Little hole in my front cv boot. $200 vs $6 why not! Thanks 👍

I used shoe glue and its worked pretty well so far for the last month. I only cleaned the split area really well with brake cleaner and acetone, not the area on the boot around the split. But then i put the glue all over the place. Will it still hold?

I just fixed mine with rubber patches for bicycle tube. 😅

I been using the gorilla glue (gel) for similar repairs. Im thinking is it better to use Gorilla Waterproof Patch & Seal instead?

Great video I have a tiny split on my CV boot right before the small clamp end it's about a inch long would this glue be strong enough to bond it together.

Won’t the super glue cost about the same amount as the tiny rubber boot anyways?
