I never realized how much I would miss all this. I retired after 22.7 years of being devoted to the USMC. It's been 6 years and I still miss it every day.

The morale in this company is something all units should strive to develop 🙌

I'm about be 6 years and this hit me emotional because I still love DNC from basic training like that and with me being an NCO watching her in that video shows how building that teamwork and relationship with soldiers means alot. From me looking up to my Drill Sergeants and now setting the example. It's just crazy looking at it from the other end of the stick.

My Platoon won DNC at the company level, the battalion level and almost won the regimental level. We practiced our asses off. It brings back a lot of good memories.

After 22 years of active duty and 11 years retired, I can truly say this is one of the things I miss most about the Army.

As a former Army brat, I am just bursting with pride for the Army and these wonderful soldiers and remarkable Cadence Caller. I was born at Ft. Gordon many many years ago, I think it is a small world. GO ARMY

15 year military vet (85-89 Marines and 2000-11 Army) 1 sea deployment, 2 trips to Iraq and 1 to Afghanistan. Knee problems ended my military career or i would have done my 20. This is a clear example of what it means to be apart of something special. There is not enough money in the world that I would take to replace the memories, friendships or experiences that i had (good or bad). These young men and women show the spirit of believing in something more then themselves. HOAH and URAH from someone that has been there.

Cadence was a big relief in our training. Funny it’s what I missed the most 😊

I had a junior high history teacher, whose first introduction to his students on the first day was a message written on the chalkboard. "Ignorance is the enemy, whose side are you on?" Always stuck with me to this day. Anyway back to story. I heard that he made his students go out and march. I was like what the hell? Well, yes he did. It was such a huge cluster f**k hahaha. But with time he could get us to march...a bunch of immature 13 year old kids!!! Nothing even close to this, but at least sort of, maybe, straight rows. The time that went into this must be insane!! This was truly amazing to watch and brought back memories of over 40 years ago. To get people to be one, working together as one. Amazing.

This was my company and my brigade sgt major. That was my barracks in the back right corner... it litterally hurts my heart and makes me miss the army

What most civilians don't understand is that cadence calling is not actually rooted in singing. It is about keeping the soldiers, sailors and air force personnel in step, working as one. True cadence calling is what you see in this video. All the other videos you watch are additions to the basic cadence that helps motivate the service members. But true cadence is rooted in calling the movement commands as shown in this video.
