I know Estonians who have bunkers in the forests dug for just such an invasion, if Russia decides to reclaim Soviet borders. In Ukraine, Kyiv is full of underground bunkers, galleries and collectors, which would make it very hard for Russians to occupy the city without constant pop up attacks by the resistance...

General Douglas MacArthur once that "The soldier above all others prays for peace, for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war". I pray for peace continually, though I have no formal military background. I've received para-military training, at a military base, in "boot-camp" tradition (retired law enforcement here 25+ years), but according to law enforcement requirements. Sorry for the late subscribe. In all honesty, I forget these types of things, and I always seem to forget to hit the "Like" buttons. Love your channel, and love the military related content . I'm very opinionated so take my comments with a grain of salt. They may be educated, but they're still opinions from my personal perspective (and experiences).

All that aside, according to news sources here in the states: U.S. intelligence sources claim that an attack on Ukraine is imminent. Reports that Russia has withdrawn some troops from the border is propaganda and that only a comparative handful have been redeployed and the Wall Street Journal reported today that mortar shells have fallen on a school inside the Ukraine injuring Kindergarten teachers in the Donbas region. I don't know what is being reported outside the USA, but all indications in the news here is that, Russia is prepping for war and an attack is imminent.

I think a lot of people forget that in 1939, not only did the Nazis attack Poland, but Russia did too from the east, effectively splitting the country in half as agreed upon by a pact between the Nazis and the Soviets (long before the Nazis invaded Russia in 1941). Russia also attacked Finland in 1939. Russia also attacked Afghanistan in 1979. Putin is from the "old school", soviet union mindset, as I'm sure a lot of other disgruntled Russians are, but the facts speak for themselves. Russia has a long repetitive history of unprovoked aggression. I think Russia is nuts if they do attack, since it might actually bankrupt its already cash-strapped coffers (with low oil prices and sanctions), but I think past (especially repetitive) behaviors can be reasonably applied to predict what a nation will do in the future.
Also, I think it's imperative that we look into WHY Russia was nearly defeated and suffered immensely under the Nazi onslaught. Try Looking into Stalin's, paranoid pre-WWII purge (1936-1938) of the military ranks (and it's own people) in an effort to eliminate anyone even remotely suspected of potential anti-communist activity. Some reports list the civilian numbers to be as high as 20 MILLION! Russia has no one to blame but themselves for their military ineptness (failures) during WWII. Now, as far as fighting is concerned, remember that the Ukrainians are motivated by the passions of protecting their own country and people, while the Russian motivation is far less inspiring (soldiers doing what they're ordered to do) and you tell me what the sum of the equation looks like. 90% of aid given by the USA, not by NATO. That speaks volumes about NATO and its "Russian Gas" guzzling puppets. U.S. made "Stinger" AA (shoulder fired!) missiles wreaked havoc on Soviet air assets, especially the MI-24 Hind helicopters, in Afghanistan. ;-) Peace
